French Film Festival
This exciting annual event provides an opportunity for North Vancouver students to enrich their French-language studies and to expose them to French culture and French language use in a different context by viewing current, quality French films. This year’s Film Festival took place on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Concours d’art oratoire
The Concours d’art oratoire (French public speaking competition) is a long-standing CPF tradition in the North Vancouver school district.  Each year French Immersion (FI), Late French Immersion (LFI) and Francophone students from across North Vancouver participate in the North Vancouver School District Concours d’art oratoire final.  Winners from the district competition then go on to compete with students from across BC in the Provincial Concours d’art oratoire held at SFU Surrey Campus on Saturday May 4th 2013. Provincial winners have the opportunity to go on to travel to the national Concours in Ottawa to compete for a $20,000 scholarship to the University of Ottawa, among other prizes! This year’s Concours d’art oratoire was a very successful event.  We are proud of the effort and dedication of all students who competed in both the district and provincial competitions. The speeches were well written and well presented to an audience of their peers, teachers and parents. Click here for more info about the North Vancouver Concours.

Étienne Concert, November 20th, 2012
North Vancouver School District 44 and CPF worked together on November 20th, to bring elementary students “Etienne”, two singer song writers from Educorock. This was a rock concert in French. Over 900 students, a cross-section of schools and grades, packed into Centennial Theatre, for two performances. Students had a fantastic time, singing along with ‘Canada’s Favorite’ singer entertainer.
