French Film Festival 2017, February 23

On February 23rd, students from all 7 French Immersion Elementary schools in the North Vancouver School District will be converging on Cineplex Cinemas Esplanade to take part in CPF North Vancouver’s annual French Film Festival! They will be viewing La guerre des tuques 3D a lively, animated remake of La guerre des tuques (The Dog Who Stopped the War), a beloved Québécois live-action film from 1984. A book of the same name was produced to accompany the original film. During Christmas holidays, the children of a small village in Québec split themselves into two groups and begin preparing a week-long snowball war. The rivalry opens up tension among group members, especially leaders Luc and Sophie. The colourful film of course is allegorical: Peace is tough and tedious; war is an easy solution.

Bon cinéma to Écoles Boundary, Braemar, Cleveland, Dorothy Lynas, Larson, Ross Road et Sherwood Park!
